Calcium Citrate

Last reviewed: June 2026 · Medically reviewed by a licensed pharmacist

What it does

Calcium is the main mineral your bones and teeth are built from, and it's also needed for muscles to contract and nerves to fire. Your body keeps blood calcium steady at all costs: if your diet falls short, it borrows from your bones, weakening them over time. We use the citrate form, which absorbs well even on an empty stomach.

The science

Calcium is the primary mineral for bone density, neuromuscular signalling, and cardiovascular function. Absorption is enhanced by vitamin D3 and K2.

Most relevant for

Low-dairy diets, women's long-term bone health, and adults over 50.
